These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern the use of UsedLater?, including user accounts, product pages, comparisons, rankings, badges and the submission of owner experiences.

Please read these Terms before creating an account or submitting content.

1. What UsedLater? is

UsedLater? is a platform for structured long-term product experiences.

Users can share information about products they own or have owned, including whether they still use the product, whether their usage changed, whether they regret the purchase and whether they would buy it again.

UsedLater? may aggregate these responses into statistics, rankings, comparisons, badges and other product-level signals.

UsedLater? does not provide laboratory testing, professional product testing or a guarantee of product quality.

2. Accounts

Some features require a user account.

You must provide accurate account information and keep access to your account secure. You are responsible for activity carried out through your account unless it results from circumstances outside your reasonable control.

You may not create multiple accounts in order to submit multiple active experiences for the same product, manipulate statistics, rankings or badges, or circumvent platform restrictions.

UsedLater? may restrict, suspend or close accounts that are used in violation of these Terms.

3. One active owner experience per product

UsedLater? is designed around one active owner experience per user and product.

If your experience changes over time, you should update your existing response instead of creating another one.

UsedLater? may merge, disregard or remove duplicate or manipulated submissions when necessary to preserve the integrity of the data.

4. Rules for submitting an owner experience

By submitting or updating an experience, you confirm that:

  • the submission reflects your own genuine experience with the product;
  • you provide the information in good faith;
  • you do not knowingly provide false or misleading information;
  • you are not submitting the response solely to manipulate a product’s statistics, ranking or badges;
  • the submission does not violate applicable law or the rights of another person.

You should only submit an experience for a product you have actually owned or used sufficiently to provide a meaningful owner experience.

5. Commercial interests and manipulation

UsedLater? is intended to reflect owner experiences, not promotional campaigns.

You may not submit or coordinate responses in order to artificially improve or damage a product’s results.

If you are the manufacturer, seller, distributor, agency, employee, contractor or another person with a material commercial interest in a product, you must not present a promotional or coordinated submission as an independent owner experience.

UsedLater? may exclude responses where there are reasonable indications of manipulation, undisclosed commercial influence, automated activity, duplicate participation or other abuse.

Commercial relationships, advertising and affiliate arrangements do not entitle any company to alter user statistics, rankings or badge calculations.

6. Prohibited content and conduct

You may not use UsedLater? to submit, upload, publish or otherwise make available content that:

  • is unlawful;
  • infringes copyright, trademark, privacy, personality or other third-party rights;
  • contains threats, harassment or unlawful discrimination;
  • contains malicious code, automated spam or attempts to interfere with the service;
  • impersonates another person or organisation;
  • contains fabricated owner experiences;
  • is submitted as part of coordinated manipulation;
  • unlawfully discloses personal or confidential information about another person.

UsedLater? may take proportionate action when these rules are violated, including restricting visibility, excluding a response from calculations, removing content, limiting account functions or suspending an account.

7. How responses are used

Responses may be processed and combined with other valid responses to generate product-level information such as:

  • Regret rate;
  • Would buy again;
  • Still using it;
  • reasons why usage declined;
  • comparisons between products;
  • rankings;
  • UsedLater? badges or similar long-term signals.

Individual responses may influence these results whenever they meet the applicable methodology and validity rules.

8. Rankings, percentages and badges

UsedLater? calculates product statistics from available valid responses.

Results may change when responses are added, updated, removed or excluded.

A ranking or badge is therefore not permanent.

UsedLater? may apply minimum-data requirements and comparison rules in order to avoid presenting very small samples as more reliable than they are.

Badges cannot be purchased. Commercial relationships do not change the underlying calculation rules.

The methodology, thresholds and display rules may be improved over time. Material methodological changes should be reflected transparently on the Methodology or badge information pages.

9. User content and licence

You retain any rights you may have in content that you submit.

To the extent that submitted content is protected by copyright or similar rights, you grant UsedLater? a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, reproduce, display, technically process and make the content available as necessary to operate UsedLater?, present your contribution, generate platform statistics and maintain the service.

This licence is limited to the purposes of operating and presenting UsedLater? and does not transfer ownership of your content to UsedLater?.

If content is deleted, UsedLater? will stop displaying it as individual user content within a reasonable technical period, subject to legal retention obligations and the treatment of genuinely anonymised aggregate data described below.

10. Account deletion, response deletion and aggregated data

You may request deletion of your account and, where available, delete or request deletion of your submitted content.

Personal data will be handled in accordance with the Privacy Policy and applicable data-protection law.

Where information has been genuinely anonymised so that it can no longer be related to an identifiable person, anonymised statistical information may remain in aggregate datasets and historical calculations.

UsedLater? will not describe data as anonymous where it remains reasonably linkable to an identifiable user.

11. Moderation and enforcement

UsedLater? may review content or account activity when there are indications of a violation of these Terms, manipulation, unlawful content, security risks or methodological invalidity.

Depending on the circumstances, UsedLater? may:

  • take no action;
  • request clarification;
  • exclude a response from calculations;
  • restrict visibility;
  • remove content;
  • temporarily limit an account;
  • suspend or terminate an account.

Where required by applicable law, users will receive information about relevant moderation decisions and available means of redress.

12. Reporting potentially illegal content

If you believe content on UsedLater? is illegal or infringes your rights, you can report it through:

A report should identify the specific content concerned and explain why you believe it is illegal.

UsedLater? may request additional information where necessary to understand and assess a report.

13. Availability and changes to the service

UsedLater? may change, improve, suspend or discontinue features.

There is no guarantee that every feature, product page, statistic, comparison, ranking or badge will remain available permanently.

UsedLater? may also correct technical errors, duplicate products, incorrect classifications or calculation errors.

14. No guarantee of accuracy or suitability

Owner experiences are generally self-reported unless a stronger form of verification is explicitly stated.

UsedLater? does not guarantee that every submission is complete, accurate or representative of all owners of a product.

Statistics and badges are informational signals based on the available data. They are not professional advice and should not be treated as a guarantee that a product will be suitable for a particular person or purpose.

15. Intellectual property of UsedLater?

The UsedLater? name, design, software, database structure, original texts, graphics and other platform materials may be protected by intellectual-property rights.

These Terms do not grant users a right to copy, reproduce, scrape, republish or commercially exploit substantial parts of the platform except where permitted by law or with prior permission.

Normal linking to publicly accessible UsedLater? pages is permitted.

16. Automated access and scraping

You may not use bots, scripts, crawlers or automated systems in a manner that:

  • interferes with the operation or security of UsedLater?;
  • attempts to manipulate submissions or metrics;
  • circumvents technical restrictions;
  • places unreasonable load on the service;
  • extracts data for unlawful purposes.

This does not limit rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

17. External links and third-party services

UsedLater? may link to third-party websites, retailers or services.

UsedLater? is not responsible for the content, availability, prices, products or privacy practices of independent third parties.

Where a link is commercial, sponsored or affiliate-based, it should be identified where required.

18. Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where liability cannot legally be excluded or limited.

Subject to applicable mandatory law, UsedLater? is not responsible for purchase decisions made solely on the basis of user-generated experiences, aggregate statistics, rankings or badges.

Users remain responsible for assessing whether a product is appropriate for their own needs.

19. Changes to these Terms

UsedLater? may update these Terms where reasonably necessary, for example because of changes to the service, methodology, security requirements or applicable law.

If a change materially affects registered users, UsedLater? will provide appropriate notice before the change takes effect where required.

The current version will always be made available on the website.

20. Privacy

The processing of personal data is described separately in the Privacy Policy.

The Privacy Policy is information about data processing and is not replaced by these Terms.

21. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rules that apply to users in their country of residence.

Mandatory statutory rights remain unaffected.
